What Can I borrow? 

  • Adults and under 18s may borrow up to 30 items* on their card.
  • Open Access members may borrow up to 30 items (audio visual items are free of charge**)
  • Childminders may borrow up to 30 children's books or audiobooks on their card.
  • Reading groups and Music groups may borrow 2 sets of books/scores at a time.
  • Good Neighbours may borrow up to 30 items***.

*Items include books, CDs, DVDs, console games, CD-ROMs, Maps and audio books.

** Proof of disability is required i.e. AnyTown Council disability card or letter from doctor stating visual, mental or other physical impairment which makes reading difficult.

*** The Good Neighbour Scheme is for friends and relatives of those who are unable to visit the library themselves.  The card is held at the library so that anyone can choose books on their behalf.

 

How Long is the Loan Period?

  • Books and audio books are loaned for 4 weeks.
  • Fastback paperbacks are loaned for 2 weeks (cannot be renewed).
  • DVDs and console games are loaned for 1 week.
  • CDs are loaned for 4 weeks.
  • The loan period for good neighbours, childminders, reading groups and music groups is six weeks

Items may be renewed up to 5 times as long as they have not been requested by another customer.  Please click here to renew your books or phone 0845 000 000 .  You may renew books, CDs and audiobooks up to 5 times and DVDs up to 2 times.
